Battery, Solar Panel & Power Management

Understanding Solar Charging

The solar panel helps maintain battery charge during normal use.

Like most compact wildlife cameras, it works best when helping maintain an already healthy battery level rather than recharging a fully drained battery quickly.

Getting the Best Battery Performance

Battery usage naturally increases when:

  • watching live video for long periods

  • receiving frequent motion alerts

  • WiFi signal is weak

  • weather is cold

This is completely normal for WiFi wildlife cameras.

Important Battery Advice

If the battery becomes very low:

  • the camera may temporarily disconnect from WiFi

  • the app may show the camera as offline

In many cases, reconnecting improves once battery rises above around 10–15%.

Tips for Longer Battery Life

For best performance:

  • place the solar panel in direct sunlight

  • avoid excessive live viewing

  • maintain good WiFi signal

  • occasionally recharge by USB during winter if needed

Occasional USB charging during winter is completely normal for most solar-powered wildlife cameras.

Winter Performance

Shorter daylight hours and colder weather naturally reduce solar charging performance.

Occasional USB charging during winter is completely normal.
